What does 'bring your own device' actually mean?
You keep the GPS tracker you already bought and the SIM already inside it. Instead of buying new hardware, you point that tracker at our server with a few SMS commands, and it starts reporting to your W3ctrl Track account. Nothing is posted to you, nothing is installed, and you never pay us for hardware.
Will my tracker work with W3ctrl Track?
If it is a wired tracker bought in India for under about ₹2,000, it is almost certainly a GT06-family device and it will work. We support over 200 protocols covering 2,000+ tracker models. Check our supported devices page, or send us the model number on WhatsApp and we will confirm before you pay anything.
Do I need a new SIM card?
No. The SIM already in your tracker keeps working exactly as it does now. You keep paying your own operator directly, which means we can never hold your connectivity hostage — and you can leave us at any time without the device becoming a paperweight.
How is this cheaper than SeTrack or Fleettrack?
Because we do not sell you hardware or a SIM, we carry no inventory, no shipping and no connectivity cost. We run the software platform and nothing else, so the yearly fee is genuinely all we need to charge. That is how Basic lands at ₹299 against a typical ₹499 platform fee elsewhere.
What if I cannot get my device connected?
Our setup wizard walks you through the exact SMS commands for your specific model, including the APN for your mobile operator. If the device has not come online within five minutes, the wizard moves into troubleshooting, and you can reach a human on WhatsApp. You are inside a free trial the whole time, so you have not paid anything yet.
Can I really cut the engine from my phone?
On GT06-family and most Teltonika devices, yes — provided the relay was physically wired in when the tracker was installed. If your installer did not fit the relay, the command will do nothing. OBD plug-in trackers cannot do this at all, since they read data but cannot switch anything.
