The problem we kept running into

Buy a GPS tracker in India and you are really buying two things: a small box of electronics, and a subscription to whichever platform that box was configured to talk to. The box costs ₹900–1,900. The platform renews every year at ₹499 or more.

Stop paying and the box stops being useful — not because it broke, but because it was only ever taught one address. That is a commercial decision dressed up as a technical limitation, and it is the thing we set out to undo.

What we do differently

We do not sell trackers, and we do not sell SIM cards. You keep the device you already bought and the SIM already inside it. We run the platform it reports to — the map, the geofences, the alerts, the history — and we charge for that alone.

That removes inventory, shipping, connectivity and warranty from our cost base entirely. It is why ₹299 a year is a viable price for us rather than a loss leader, and why we can be relaxed about you leaving: your tracker keeps working, because it was always yours.

Built on open foundations

The protocol layer of our platform is built on Traccar, the open-source GPS tracking server, used under the Apache 2.0 licence. That is what lets us support 200+ protocols and 2,000+ device models on day one instead of implementing them one at a time — and it is why your obscure tracker probably already works.

Who is behind it

W3ctrl Track is a product of W3ctrl, a development company that has been building software since 2010. The platform, the servers and the support are all run from India.

What we will not do

• Sell your location data, share it with advertisers, or analyse your movements for any purpose other than showing them to you.
• Lock your device to our platform. If you leave, your tracker can be pointed anywhere else the same day.
• Promise that every tracker ever made will work. A small number are firmware-locked by their vendor, and we will tell you that rather than take your money.
• Race to ₹199. Support costs real money, and a platform that cannot afford to answer you is worth less than the difference.
